Congratulations! You’re engaged! What an exciting time for you-one full of joy and exhilaration. As you begin the process of planning your wedding, it may be you have no idea where to start. Here are some tips to help you along the way.
First, decide the level of formality for your wedding. This will set the stage for all of your decisions including choice of venue, your dress, and flowers. We have a brief video regarding the level of formality which will give you all the details.
Next, create a system to keep track of your ideas, budget, and schedule. An easy way to do this is to get a 3-ring binder and use tab dividers labeled with the various areas. Make a dream section to put pictures in, a note section to write down things you think of or see, and an area for spreadsheets to keep track of the nitty gritty details like where you are spending your money and when you need to contact your vendors for a final tally.
Attend bridal events. The Pink Bride Bridal Show is in many cities. It is a great show where you can meet and talk with many vendors and gain a great head start on your planning. We’ll be at the bridal show in Knoxville, Tennessee on January 8th from 11-4. Here in Knoxville, there are several bridal shows throughout the year. Search social media for upcoming events or check your local papers and community bulletin boards.
Keep fun in your relationship! The pressures of wedding planning can become overwhelming quickly. Take time for you as a couple to remember why you are getting married. Endeavor to not talk about anything wedding related during these times.
